2007 has been a record for tourist arrivals
With a total of 675,889 tourists, it has been recorded that 2007 had been a record year for tourist arrivals in the Maldives.
Maldives Chosen as the World's most Romantic Destination in the 14th Annual World Travel Awards held in the Turks and Caicos Islands on the 12th December 2007. Maldives was also nominated as World's Leading Destination, World's Leading Dive Destination, World's Leading Honeymoon Destination and World's Leading Travel Television Commercial. In addition Maldives Tourism Promotion Board was nominated in the World’s Leading Tourist and Convention Bureau category.
Bus Advertising Campaign of Maldives in Africa
Male’, 26 December 2007; The Maldives has launched a bus advertising campaign of Maldives in South Africa. Two double Decker buses will feature Maldives from 1st December 2007 to 31st May 2008
